Marcia's Books!

I ordered all of the books that I dont' have by Marcia Lynn McClure! I didn't have eight of them, now I have all fourteen! Today I read The Whispered Kiss and it was amazing! It's a Beauty and the Beast story. Marcia, the author, was my mom's best friend from college and her books are incredible! Especially if you love romance mixed with mystery!

Italian Sodas

Yesterday Chrisanne got home from girls camp! We were kinda ticked at a couple guys, so we went where we always go when we just feel like talking! To get Italian Sodas at the Nordstrom Cafe! I always get vanilla hazelnut and she never gets the same thing. It was fun! We always have a good time there.

Naps

My grandma fell asleep on the couch in my living room yesterday. Then my dog, Kandi, came and fell asleep on top. SO cute! Kandi LOVES falling asleep on top of people an din the most inconvenient places.

Rose Thorns

Quinton and I had some fun yesterday. My mom was out pruning the rose bushes in front of our house and we went out and decided to make a rose thorn chain. I think we got 14 thorns lined up. We started on the actual limb and hooked them all together. Ha ha. It was fun!

Quinton's Game

Quinton had his last play-off game tonight. While even though they lost, it was an AWESOME game!!! Quinton got on base all four times he was up to bat. Two of the times he hit the ball all the way to the fence! He scored both those times. He caught this awesome foul ball. He almost ran into the fence to catch it. He was at first base and ran pretty far to catch it. He had two or three other outs too. He played SO great! He got the GAME BALL!!!! It was such an intense game! They lost 11-5 but it was such a good game!

Priest/Laurel Picnic

Last night the Priests and the Laurels went on a picnic to Nielson's Grove Park. It was so much fun! We ate KFC and played games.

Bo got hit in the face with a football and got a bloody nose. I love his pose in this picture.
We played teal the Flag. It was hard cause the teams were so small and the boundaries were so huge. My team's flag was this empty Capri Sun box. Each team got to hide their flag. So we put it halfway in the garbage can and turned it around into the vines behind it. We were gonna put it all the way into the trash can but then we though that that would be mean. The next round we hid it in a tree and the other team looked for it the entire game and still couldn't find it.
This is Emily. She's my young womens president's daughter. I pushed her in the swing and she had so much fun! She's a little over a year old. Probably the CUTEST little girl ever!

We had lots of fun!

Quinton's shoes

My brother is turning 12 in about a week and a half, so he got a suit and new church shoes cause he will be a Deacon. I decided I wanted to try on said shoes. They were too big. I can't believe my 11, almost 12, year-old brother had bigger feet than me!

This is me in his shoes. They are pretty spiffy, just too big for me. So I'll let him be the one to wear them to church.

Quinton's First Play-Off Game

Quinton had his first play-off game today. It was so so intense!

This is Quinton swinging the bat.
Quinton hit a double! This is him running to second base.

Quinton scored the first point for his team this game too! He scored TWO points! It was an awesome game for everyone on his team! It was the first play-off game and they WON!!!! It was awesome! Only the second game they've won. This team beat them terribly last time they played them.

Youth Conference

Yesterday we had youth conference. For our day activity we took a tour of Welfare Square.

These are the silos at Welfare Square. Lindsay whispered to me, "They look like they are made out of paper machey." Then the missionaries told us they only took 8 days to build. Lindsay said, "Then there's no way that's paper machey. Cause if they were made out of paper machey it would have taken AT LEAST nine."
These are the missionaires that took us on our tour.
When we walked passed the place where the cheese is made, one of the missionaries said, "This is where we cut....I mean slice the cheese" Everyone started laughing. Then she said, "Sorry, my english not too good." We got cheese and chocolate milk samples. they were SO SO SO good!
On our way back from Salt Lake Jan realized we were almost out of gas. We were riding on empty. Gas was $4.03 right next to Welfare Square and she didn't want to pay that much. So we got on the freeway and stopped a few exits down. At Chevron it was $4.13 and at Sinclair it was $4.05. So we stopped there. It was still more expensive than $4.03. Then as were pulling out I noticed that the station right across the street was only $3.99. It was kinda funny.
On the freeway we saw this car that on the back said "Call David at 404-3890" It didn't say why or anything. So when we got back we had Kiley call the number. She said something like, "David! I haven't talked to you forever. I've been meaning to call you but I didn't have your number. Then I saw it today!" She left it on the answering machine.
On our way back we were all talking about how guys like the smell of oil and tires and other weird stuff and girls like floral smells. So why don't girls wear tire perfume and guys wear flower cologne? Then we passed this part on the freeway that really smelled like oil. Sister Webber was like, "Quick! Bottle it up! One of us can wear it!" ha ha.

I just liked this picture so I put it up. Yes, these are the same shades Taylor bought at the Summerfest. The "chick shades" as he calls them.
I think the boys in my ward, to be perfectly honest, are wimps. Right when we got to the campsite Bo brings me his tent. There was a caterpillar on it. It was pretty big and cute. The colors were awesome. Turquoise and green and yellow. He refused to touch it. So I picked it up and let it crawl all over my arm. I named him Cotton. (Cause there were so many cotton trees)
Soon after we got to camp Taylor and Kapena saw this green shirt hanging from a tree. It blended in pretty well. So Taylor decided to put it on.
Perfect fit. Is that Don....or Julio?
Look at them pecs.

While I was up cooking our pizza Taylor came up from the stream and told me there was a snake down there. I, of course, didn't believe him because he's known for teasing. But there really was a snake! he said, "I think it's dead. I threw a piece of wood at it." Well I watched it for a minute or so. Then I was talking to Taylor and Kapena and I looked down and I saw less of the snake than I had before. I knew it either moved or the water moved it. So I told them. They looked down right as the snake's head popped out of the water and started swimming. This is right about when the big, tough guys turned into girls. They screamed. I'm not kidding. We were standing on the rocks in the stream and they got out so fast. The snake was MAYBE six inches long and a centimeter thick. I didn't think it was scary at all, I just laughed at them. You can see it right next to the rock in this picture if you look really closely. Not quite halfway down the picture.

For our dutch oven competition we made our delicious pizza! Jan tossed the dough. It was awesome!
This is Shelby decorating them.
SO yummy!!!
Our judge was Brother LeBaron. We even added garnish to the plate.
This is Brother LeBaron about to tast our pizza! We won best presentation on our pizza and then we won best tasting for our cinnamon rolls. (They didnt' give a best presentation award for the desserts, so basically we won best overall.)

The Laurels planned quite a few pranks. This one was succesful but we just don't know who was the victim. We taped those pop-it things underneath the toilet seat in the men's bathroom. So if they had to sit, POP! We know they popped cause we checked, we just don't know on who! (This was mainly planned for the priests, so hopefully it was one of them.)

The Priests' skit was pretty funny. One at a time they went up to the front and Bo would ask them "Where'd you get your shirt?" (or pants, shoes, hat, etc.) they'd all say "JC Penny." Then Taylor walks on stage in just a towel and Bo said "Who are you?" he said "I'm JC Penny." There's was funny but ours was better!

For our skit the we did the story of Running deer. There was an old chief (played by me) who had to decide which of his sons would become the next chief. So he sent them into the wilderness to see could live there the longest. The last one to come home would become chief. Running Deer came home but Falling Rock never did so he couldn't become chief.

We know he never returned because we see these signs all over Utah.

For our run-on the laurels were the olympic blanket tossing team. Bruce was our invisible flyer. He decided he wanted to go for the world record blanket toss so we threw him up and we couldn't find him so we walked off. Then I yelled "Bruce!" after another skit and we caught him. Notice our extremely attractive sweatbands.

This is Taylor and Kapena about to scare whoever is inside the tent. It was Brother Stutzman. They had their scary masks on. They didn't quite get the reaction they wanted but it was still funny!

A lot of people came home after the campfire program last night. Bri and I did too. But we had so so so so much fun!

Our Trip to Savers

Mom, me and Bri went to Savers today. We had more fun than should be allowed!

I liked these pants until I saw the rip...

If anyone needs 23 pair of the exact same pants, Savers is your place.

Taylor's Hockey Game

Last night I went to Taylor's hockey game. It was lots of fun! They won 3-1.

Taylor got hit in the jaw at the game. ouch. He's lucky he still has teeth.
Some kid dislocated his knee during the game. I bet that hurt really, really badly!
I just learned that when you hit someone, it's called checking. I'm learning! Oh and their pants/shorts are called breezers. Slowly I'm learning about this game. Soon, I'll even know the rules.

The game was really fun!

Seven Peaks

My family went to Seven Peaks yesterday for a few hours. The back of my legs got pretty sunburned. But not as badly as Bri's.

This is Quinton and Kualana. The height difference is huge and as hard as it is to believe, Kaulana is a few months older than Quinton.
This is Emilie
This is Brianna
While we were there, the Clark's umbrella flew into the Lazy River and Brother Clark had to jump in to get it! It was so funny! We have the exact same umbrella except a bird pooped on ours. Ha ha. It was lots of fun.
I went on Shotgun Falls with Emilie and Leilani. I was in the front, Emilie was in the middle and Leilani was in the back. By the time we got to the end I was out of the tube, Emilie was in the front, and Leilani was in the middle. Interesting...

Quinton's baseball game

My brother had a baseball game a couple nights ago. I love going to his games. Quinton scored the first point for his team, and it was in the very last inning.

He pitched quite a bit. I think I took a picture of every pitch he threw...
I LOVE his face in this picture!

I got a video of Quinton scoring! But I didn't know Sam was coming in right behind him or I would have kept the video going so you could see him score too. Watch Quinton come in and then watch the kid behind him on second run to third, then home. But you can see the ball coming to the catcher and you can see Sam begin to slide. The catcher actually misses the ball so Sam scored. I'm so glad Q scored! They lost 8-3. But they scored all three points in the last inning.

Dutch Oven Cookoff

My grandpa is a professional dutch oven cooker.....or at least I consider him to be. For youth conference this next weekend we are having a dutch oven cookoff between the classes and quorums. Well....I'm not usually very competetive, but I really really really wanna beat the Priests. The Miamaids and Teachers aren't as into it as we are. So my grandpa said he'd help us out. Ya know, teach us the tricks to dutch oven cooking. So the Laurels went over to his house yesterday and we had so much fun learning about all this stuff!

This is my grandpa. He has a secret method of lighting the best briquettes.
This is Bri cutting the cinnamon rolls with dental floss.
These are the uncooked cinnamon rolls sitting in the dutch oven.
These are the cinnamon rolls when they are all cooked. Aren't they beautiful? They were PROBABLY the best tasting cinnamon rolls I've ever eaten! Taylor's mom was with us and she brought him home one. While he was eating it he said, "We are so gonna lose."

After taking this picture, I had a couple slight mishaps. Bri wasn't being very careful pouring the sauce... and it splattered on my shirt. Then when we were taking the pizza out, it also splattered on me. Only this time all over my pink pants.
One of our uncooked pizzas.
The same pizza after being cooked. I don't like olives so I ate the other pizza.
The Laurels are for sure gonna win with our new found skills. We are masters of the dutch oven!
